Hi…….!!! Friends…. How are you??? Actually I don’t have any idea what will I write in my blog. But, fortunately, I got an idea, which is recommended you about the good places for have breakfast, lunch, dinner or gathering with your friends in the afternoon when you visit Singkawang

VILLA BUKIT MAS
I love this place very much because it’s very beautiful in the afternoon and romantic in the night. It is just about 1km from Gate of Singkawang. You have to straight ahead, and then you have to turn right when you see the gate which has written Gold Hill Villa. In this place you not only eat, but also you can swim and check in because there are two swimming pool and some rooms for the guest who want to stay in there.
In the top of building and in the middle there is a place where visitors can take a rest or have lunch or dinner. But, it will be so romantic if you have dinner with someone special. The cost of the foods is not expensive. Why I have said like that? You not only eat but also you can see the beautiful scenery of Singkawang at the same time.

PANGERAN CAFE
Strangest. It will available in your mind if you read this part. But, this place is so cozy and cool. This is one of the favorite places for the younger gathering in the afternoon. It will be more crowded on Saturday Night. Moreover, you can sing a song or connect to internet… And the most important thing is the costs of the foods are cheap. Hhhmmmmmmm ,,,, This place so cool right. So, don’t miss it if you come to Singkawang.

Okay friends, I will continue to tell you the great place in Singkawang. May be this place is one of the religious places in Singkawang and also has a big history. All the people in Singkawang were really familiar in that building. This building has special architechture and most of the colour is re and adornment is dragon.
The name of that building is Dharma Bumi Raya Buddhist Monastery where in the middle of Singkawang which is believed that it is home of Dewa Bumi Raya who protects Singkawang. This monastery was build in the 1933.
In the past, in the behind of this monastery, there are a sanggar kuda which every people who do live in Singkawang which want to buying somthing in Singkawang to place their horse.But in the 1939 this monastery was burn. Luckily all of the statue can be save by Aheng’s parent, the owner of Aheng Restaurant.
After that accident, all the citizen cooperated to collect some money to reconstruct this building. But it was not have the agreement from the President of Dutch. But, at night, the wife of the President dreamed that The God of Bumi Raya come to her and asked to give the permission for reconstructed the building. And the next day, the president gave the permission for the citizen to reconstruct the building. Finally, in the 6th month of 6th year of is the birthday of the god Bumi Raya.
Now, most of tourists who come to Singkawang always visit this place. Some of them want to know about that story or just take some photographs. So, don’t forget to come to this place when you come to Singkawang. Trust me…………

Weird, scary, religion and mysticism is a feeling that will appear when you witnessed this event. This event is always held every day until 15 after the Lunar New Year. It was held by Chinese people which known as Cap Go Meh. Just like Singkawang, Cap Go Meh is also held every year with great fanfare. There are some things that make the Cap Go Meh 2010 in Singkawang become very famous and dear to miss.


Cap go meh this year different from previous years. Cap go meh focused this year on kridasana Stadium and opened by the Coordinating Minister for people's welfare, Agung Laksono. Moreover, this event was also held for 3 days where the peak event is on Sunday, 28 February 2010. Cap Go Meh this year is very different because all supposed to Cap Go Meh is usually performed for one day.

Cap Go Meh this time followed by 777 Tatung that broke the record of MURI. Tatung is a person who was possessed by the spirits that have immunity and do not feel pain when sitting or standing on the cheek sword or a long iron into the boards. Tatung parade was held along the streets of Diponegoro. The participants of this event not only men, but also women and children. So, not surprisingly, Cap Go Meh this time broke the record because the Cap Go Meh this year is consists more than the years before.


Besides that, the Cap Go Meh this time also animated with a giant cake and giant Lantern basket. Cakes with 99 cm high, 2,88 meters in diameter and weighs 8,735 tons of it in a display at the Kridasana Stadium. Lantern with 23 meters high and 32 feet in diameter which it is so interesting than us can also see in the Kridasana Stadium. Therefore, many people want to see the cake and the giant lantern in Singkawang who has also broken the MURI record.

Not only alive and managed to break the three record of MURI at the same time, Cap Go Meh also bring benefits to society in Singkawang. It can be seen in temporary rental housing for visitors who do not receive accommodations. Moreover, many people selling food or drink on the streets through which Cap Go Meh will around. Therefore, Cap Go Meh not only increases in foreign exchange, but also raises income people in Singkawang.



Unfortunately, there are some things that make this year's Cap Go Meh is considered less successful because of disturbing the public. For example, lack the level of security from the police. In addition, the city traffic to be disrupted because the main road past Singkawang like Jalan Diponegoro, Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Kalimantan. Then, funds expended for this show too much considering the current economic conditions are not stable even though the fund did not come from by the government of Singkawang. So, the government of Singkawang should pay more attention for some things that can interrupt the public facilitation because of Cap Go Meh.

Finally, Cap Go Meh, held every year is a tourism icon of Singkawang although there are still many shortcomings. Because there is no doubt that when think about Cap Go Meh, people will definitely remember Singkawang too. So, never miss Cap Go Meh 2011in Singkawang because it will be more alive than ever. In addition, this beach is close from the road and very easy to find it. So, this place can be one option for us to having vacation with family.

Secondly, Singkawang has a beautiful mountain that known as Rindu Alam. This place is near from Pasir Panjang Indah Beach. The right time to go there is when the weather is cloudy because if you are lucky you can touch the clouds. In addition, you can see the beautiful scenery from the top of mountain like a beautiful stretch of beach and intricacies of the road and rice fields on the other side. Unfortunately, you can not stay here because there is no hotel in there. Therefore, if you just have a short holiday, you can visit this place in the weekend.

Lastly, not only has a beautiful beach and mountain, Singkawang also has a strange zoo which known as Sinka Park Island. Why is it strange? Because this zoo is located near from the beach. Moreover, there is a smallest island in the world, Simping Island which has been recognized by the United Nations. We just need 20 minutes if we drive car or motorcycle if we are from Singkawang. Then, we also do not be worry to stay there because there are lots of available lodging and restaurant. So, in this place we not only see many kinds of animals but we also can enjoy the beautiful beach and the smallest island.

So, no longer feel confused to choose a place for vacation, especially we are who live in West Kalimantan. Singkawang is the perfect place for us to spend our time for holiday. We can enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the beach, the mountain and strange zoo. In brief, you should visit Singkawang if you have a holiday because you will not be disappointed with your choice because Singkawang is the great place for vacation.
